I missed the first day of National Blog Post Month because I worked yesterday from 9:45am to 11:30pm. In fact, I started drafting a post yesterday while on the metro to work, and never finished it.
So here I am, on the metro in to work again and let’s see if I can write a post before I get to my stop. I’m not a fast writer.
Since this is my first NaBloPoMo post, I thought I’d write an introduction.
Hi! I’m Diane. I’m a 40 something Taiwanese- Canadian- American who now lives in the Washington DC area with my Husband and three kids.
I work seasonally as a stage manager, primarily for opera productions, but really whatever anyone hires me for. I also do supertitle work – you know like subtitles for a movie, but for operas and concerts, and projected above the stage.
This blog was my COVID baby. Well one of them- I did have a literal baby (my now 7 year old) during COVID. I had contemplated starting a blog for a few years and COVID time at home was the kick I needed to start a blog, a project just for myself where I could word vomit and no one cried.
So here I am.
Eleven Things I can talk endlessly about:
-Dumplings and noodles and where to get the best dumplings and noodles in the area
-cloth diapers. Even though my youngest is now seven.
-stationary
-Dinner and meal planning hacks for when I’m never home in the evenings.
-the silly, funny, infuriating things that my kids do and say.
-how terrible my commute to my summer job is.
-How important representation in media is.
-Fun things to do on DC and how much I like living here.
-Foods to eat in Taiwan.
-bookstores and chai tea.
-opera
-The endless mental calculus that goes on in my head whenever I have to make a choice.
Welp that’s all you gets
Thanks for popping by.
Let me know if there is anything you can talk about endlessly!
